Finding Electronic Theses and Dissertations

To find WPI Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs):

1. Select Advanced Search in the Library Catalog. (Note: This link opens a library catalog session in a new browser window. This help window will remain open.)
2. Click on on the Advanced Search page. This brings you to the Search Limits page.
3. Find the Location limit, and click once on "ELECTRONIC" in the scroll box.
4. Click on Set Limits at the top or bottom of the page.
   



5. You will be returned to the Advanced Search page. Search Limits are in effect! appears in the top left.
6. Type thesis dissertation in the first Search For box.
• To find only masters theses, just type thesis, or
• to find only doctoral dissertations, just type dissertation.
7. Select any of these... from the drop-down menu.
8. Select Keyword Anywhere" from the Search In drop-down menu.
9. To find ETDs on a particular topic, select AND and then type a word(s) in the second Search For box (e.g., nanotech*).
10. Click on the Search button below the search boxes.
    



11. This search will find WPI masters theses and doctoral dissertations in electronic form.
12. Use the Sort by: drop-down menu to sort the results by title, by author name, or by publication date.
13. Click on a title to select it from the list.
14. When the Holdings information page displays, click on "Link to electronic thesis" to view the full text.
